PowerSource Athlete Assessment Days April 18 & 19
Invitation Only
Invitation-Only Athlete Assessment Experience
Experience the same performance testing used at the college and professional level
Powered by VALD Performance Technology
Your athlete has been intentionally selected for this invitation based on demonstrated focus, work ethic, and competitive drive—either through consistent effort in a local weight room or through strong performance in their sport. This assessment introduces athletes to VALD performance technology, the same category of systems used across collegiate athletics and professional organizations to evaluate and track performance.
As part of the PowerSource technology rollout, all sessions will be professionally filmed for upcoming local Spectrum streaming and cable television commercials, along with social media campaigns and the launch of our YouTube-based sports performance education platform.
This is a unique opportunity to experience the same testing process used at higher levels of sport, while gaining objective insight into current performance.
WHAT YOUR ATHLETE WILL EXPERIENCE
- Professional performance assessment using VALD technology
- Supervised warm-up and structured testing flow
- 5 key performance tests
- Small group format (max 8 athletes per hour)
- Personalized athlete performance report
- Exposure to college and pro-level testing standards
TESTING OVERVIEW
Each session is designed to be efficient, professional, and athlete-focused.
Session Includes:
- Supervised dynamic warm-up
- 5-test performance battery:
- Isometric strength testing
- Jump testing
- 5-10-5 change of direction agility test
- Total session time: approximately 60 minutes
We recognize many athletes are currently in season. While testing requires maximum effort, it is not equivalent to a full training session and is designed to be manageable alongside competition.
WHAT TO WEAR
- Workout-appropriate clothing
- Athletic shoes
- Preferred: current school or sport t-shirt
New Paragraph

PowerSource utilizes VALD Performance Technology
VALD technology is used across professional and collegiate sport to measure performance, monitor development, and support return-to-play decisions—so training is guided by data, not assumptions.
We’ve brought this same objective testing into our performance facility so athletes and active adults can train with clarity and track progress over time.
The PowerSource Athlete Assessment Radar Chart
Every participant will receive a personalized performance report, centered around the PowerSource Athlete Assessment Radar Chart.
This chart provides a clear, visual snapshot of an athlete’s performance across five key pillars of athletic development—the same categories used by elite training environments to evaluate performance.
The report breaks performance into five core pillars:
- Strength
- Power
- Speed
- Quickness
- Reactive Ability
Each category is scored from 0–100, making it easy to instantly see:
- Where your athlete is excelling
- Where improvement is needed
- How balanced their development is
What Determines the Scale?
The scoring ranges (min and max values) are based on:
- Established performance standards
- Real-world athlete data ranges
- PowerSource calibration for youth and high school athletes
These ranges are not dependent on who shows up that day, which means:
- Scores are consistent
- Athletes can track progress over time
- Results are comparable across sessions
The Five Performance Pillars (What Each Score Means)
Strength
- Measured using relative force output (N/kg)
- Reflects ability to produce force relative to body weight
- Foundation for nearly all athletic movement
Power
- Measured via jump output (W/kg)
- Reflects how quickly force can be produced
- Key for explosiveness, jumping, and acceleration
Speed
- Measured using 10-yard sprint time
- Converted so that faster times = higher scores
- Critical for first-step acceleration and game speed
Quickness (Change of Direction)
- Measured via 5-10-5 Pro Agility test
- Captures ability to stop, change direction, and re-accelerate
- Essential for nearly all field and court sports
Reactive Ability
- Measured using Drop Jump RSI (Reactive Strength Index)
- Reflects how efficiently an athlete transitions from eccentric → concentric movement
- Key for elasticity, injury resilience, and high-level performance
How the Scoring Actually Works (Behind the Scenes)
Each score follows this structure:
- A raw performance number is collected (force, time, or output)
- That value is compared against a defined performance range (min → max)
- The result is converted into a 0–100 score
For timed events (like sprints and agility):
- Faster times are inverted, so better performance = higher score
All scores are then:
- Standardized
- Capped between 0–100
- Displayed visually on the radar chart
Why This Matters for Your Athlete
Most training programs rely on:
- Guesswork
- Visual observation
- Generic programming
At PowerSource, we do it differently:
Measure → Train → Retest
This report allows you to:
- Identify exact performance gaps
- Train with purpose and direction
- Track objective improvement over time
